The only thing I've ever had here is the pizza and it is good. It's pan pizza, rectangular in shape. The white tomato is soo delicious. Seriously, I crave this pizza and always force it upon my husband when we are in the area.

If you read my review of Dino and Francesco's, I have the same opinion in many ways of this place. The staff is definitely friendlier, but the non-pizza italian food has never impressed me and it's too expensive. Another long time Clarks Summit eatery that struggles to remain good. They have an amazing pizza, though. The fresh tomato pan pizza is undoubtedly excellent and everyone I have forced it upon has agreed. Full of garlic and the only Northeast PA "American Cheese" pizza that I enjoy at all. I would recommend take-out pizza.

Great Old Forge style pizza. Hot wing pizza and steak & cheese calzone are also great. Always good service.

I needed a quick lunch before I got of town on Monday, and looked around on Yelp. And, will you look at this... a Yelper who I'm Yelp friends with from my own hometown has visited this place. And knowing how much of a pizza snob Tracy W is, I knew I'd find something good here. I knew I had to visit too if she did. So I stopped here for the lunch buffet. I liked the buffet layout. Nice amount of choices. I took tastes of the meatballs, wings, and eggplant parmesan, and found them all to be decent. My first trip to the buffet only had a couple of pizza choices, which were the regular and the plain white. I took a taste of the plain white, and found it to be ok. It could have used more garlic. I went back to the buffet for one more quick bite, and found they had put out more pizza. And there was the white pizza with tomato slices Tracy had mentioned in her review. I grabbed that with a slice of the regular. Now, the regular pizza is just that... regular. I found it to be just OK. But that white pizza with the tomato slice, that was the winner. That slice had all of the flavor that the other slices were lacking. This place to me seems like the type of place where you have to know what to order. Maybe others like their general pizza. But I will say that white tomato pizza is a real winner, and I'd certainly have it again if I am ever in that area. It's a 3 star place because not all of the offerings were great. But that one item is a 5 star item all the way.

I ordered angel hair pasta with alfredo sauce and shrimp, which wasn't very good. It was swimming in a bland sauce, and the shrimp was slightly overcooked. My girlfriend ordered chicken and broccoli with penne. The sauce was more of a broth and the chicken was a tough, slimy mess. The kids got chicken strips which came out well after we had decided to give up on our plates. The waitress claimed something was wrong with the fryer, but when we spoke to the manager and or cook he said she forgot to ring it in. Being the only diners in the place I didn't expect to sit as long as I did with an empty drink, but I'm 90% sure the waitress was stoned. We did get the chicken and broccoli taken off the bill though, so there's that. Unfortunately this was still a $50 meal however.

I haven't had this pizza in years and I never paid for it myself. It was only if I was over someones house and they got it. Typical AMERICAN cheese on white bread. Have you seen the prices!!!! $14.95 for Wonder Bread, American Cheese, and Tomato Slice w/ Garlic.

Been going there for years but the buffet has gone down hill. I love the eggplant pram but it was cold and I do mean cold. Had to wait way to long for them to put food out and the deserts leave a lot to be desired anymore. 3/4 square bits of cheesecake, I could have eaten eight of them to make one right size piece. Pretty expensive lunch and not being satisfied. I don't think Ill ever go back

I've been here a bunch of times. The last two, the pizza was great. But I always feel like it's hit or miss and never know what I'm going to get when I go in there. The service is mediocre at best. It starts with waiting to be seated, as waitresses pass by multiple times before one of them decides to put you at a table. But if you go in there knowing what to expect, you can deal with it.

I have been to Colarusso's several times, mostly for the lunch buffet. The pizza is not special - somewhat resembling that abominable stuff they sell in Old Forge. There are better places in town for pizza on fresh-baked dough. One thing that Colarusso's does better than anyone, anywhere, is eggplant parm. The eggplant is sliced super-thin, breaded and layered with tangy sauce & the same gooey "sticks all over your mouth" cheese mix that they use on the pizza. I have had some good, bad, and downright awful eggplant in restaurants all over the area. The quest for the perfect eggplant truly ends here. Colarusso's nails it every time. If you need an eggplant fix, get yourself to Colarusso's!

We just left there and although the pizza was good I'm sure we'll never go back because, as stated by many others here, the service was incredibly bad. Our waitress was so "out to lunch" I'm not sure how she was functioning. We had to ask for plates!!! We had silverware only because it was already on the table. First she said there was no lettuce when we ordered salads but then she brought them out. She spilled the soup because she said there were no bowls. I'm still not sure what that meant because it was in a bowl (?). She was on another planet. Then just as we got up to leave there was a crash in the kitchen that was so loud it hurt my ears as a whole stack of plates smashed everywhere. The out to lunch waitress never even got up to see what had happened. It was certainly memorable but, not in a good way.

I used to love their pizza. But I went in today and tried their lunch buffet. For $10, it was actually good. They have eggplant Parmesan, roast beef, lemon chicken, meatballs . But I was disappointed with their pizza buffet. Three kinds of pizza were there which was mediocore. I guess if you want the good pizza, you have to order it a la carte. But if you just want Italian food for lunch, then you will like this place.

I honestly can say I grew up in scranton area and now live in Philadelphia. We drive up to scranton just to get this pizza. It is Heaven!!! We order 5-10 trays at a time to bring to Philadelphia for all the scranton folk who moved outta town. TOO DIE FOR!

This is a conveniently located, versatile, charming Italian cafe with pizza, hoagies, salads and more. The atmosphere is suitable for any casual occasion, and the menu is large. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a not-so-friendly bartender. Service is the biggest opportunity for improvement. That said, the white pizza made up for the cold service. It's the square thick garlic bread style with a wonderful cheese blend (maybe white American & fontina?) topped with rosemary, oregano, and other spices. Very good. My boyfriend ordered an Italian hoagie. We should have asked for dressing on the side because it was drenched in Italian dressing. Just OK. Overall, this is a good Italian cafe with authentic choices and reasonable prices. I'll go back if the service warms up, or to get some of that tasty white pizza to go.

Very good food. Cozy ambiance. Their sauce is very similar to my Italian friend's grandmother's home made meat based sauce. I've had their eggplant parm twice and it's been excellent both times. My wife had the chicken florentine and she said it also was excellent. The pasta was cooked correctly and the bread basket they bring to the table is filled with their home made bread. I could make a meal out of that. Service was excellent and our waitress was very friendly. We'll return.

Not good italian food. Really! Not Good! My wife and I went in after moving from NY, ordered food, tasted the food, and immediately asked for the check. We threw the food out as soon as we left. I still see people going in, but have no idea what is wrong with their taste buds! Don't bother.

I moved back to the area after being away for awhile, and I wanted to visit Colarusso's after not going there for 10+ years. It was quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. First of all, when my boyfriend and I got there, there was no one there to greet us. We waited several minutes before seeing anyone. When the "hostess" came to seat us, she stopped about 10 feet from us, asked how many, then turned and tossed some menus on a table and walked away before we'd even stepped into the dining area. We should have walked out at that point. Our waitress was very pleasant; I have no complaints about her at all. But when we received our pizza, it was nothing short of gross. Thankfully, we had asked if the mushrooms were fresh (they're canned), so we requested fresh mushrooms. When I'm paying $16 for a pizza, I expect fresh ingredients, not slimy canned ones. The pizza was also made with American cheese. I'm sorry, I know that's a thing in Old Forge, but it's disgusting, and I did not expect a restaurant that calls itself Italian to not use mozzarella. In fact, when we asked about it, the waitress said that they use no mozzarella at all - except in their mozzarella sticks. What?!?!? We took a total of three bites of a 12-slice pizza, and the waitress apologized but said there was nothing they could do about our check as long as there was nothing wrong with the pizza. (I think using American cheese on Italian pizza is kind of a problem, but whatever.) My boyfriend asked to speak with a manager, a cook came out and spoke with us and told us that the menu specified American cheese and that if it did not, he would "see what he could do." After seeing that the menu did not specify American cheese, he still refused to do anything, citing other restaurants in the area that used American cheese and the fact that they've been around for so long. By the way, the actual manager turned out to be the cranky woman who "seated" us, and she did not come and speak with us at all. My boyfriend even offered to pay for half of the pizza that we didn't eat, but he was told that we should have known we wouldn't like it and demanded that we pay for all of it. I understand not being happy about not getting paid for a pizza, but to act in such as way as to not even be willing to meet the customer halfway leaves a bad taste in my mouth (and not just from the American cheese.) My boyfriend and I discussed it later, and we both would have been willing to go back and try a pasta dish or something else, but after the way we were treated, there is no way that we would ever go back. Long story short, Colarusso's has appalling service, is unreceptive to reasonable complaints, and has food that is barely edible. I have no idea why people go there.

Pizza is pretty good. The rest of the food isn't the greatest but it is ok. Staff is generally somewhat rude and sevice is mediocre.

Their pizza buffet was very disappointing. Most of the pizza they put out was good enough for vegans, but not a carnivore like myself. "Where's the beef?" Or the pork or the chicken? Only a few pieces of pizza with any meat were out, but there was a lot of cheese pizza or one with slices of tomato on it. And the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. Very disappointing pizza. But the other foods on the buffet were good, including the buffalo wings.

Mediocre red sauce Italian food, but holy God, the fresh tomato pizza, and double crust white pizza are SO good. The double white is what a grilled cheese sandwich should be.
